What is Natural Beekeeping?

Natural beekeeping is a rare practice embraced by only 5% of beekeepers in Europe. Unlike conventional beekeeping, natural beekeeping puts the well-being of the bees first, and aims for the long term survival of the bees as a species

  • We allow the bees to live as naturally as possible, respecting their instinct to breed and swarm.
  • Instead of spraying the bees with acids to combat mites, we encourage them to adapt to and overcome the threat as a species in order to have more resilient bees for future generations
  • We also let them build their own honey combs and let them keep their hard earned honey, only gathering the surplus after winter. This builds a positive rapport with the bees, often allowing us to interact with them without the need of bee suits
